The YWiSE Vision
OUR MISSION STATEMENT: To better affect the minds and lives of our young women for the Lord Jesus Christ, through God's Word and a close fellowship among like-minded girls.
The YWiSE Vision:
Our Vision for YWiSE Club is for our young ladies to become the women and leaders God intends for them to be; Wise, Virtuous and Courageous! Strong in the Lord and unafraid of standing for what is right! Always willing to help their sisters and be there for one another. Not allowing negative peer pressure to mandate their actions and attitudes.
To get to that point, we believe they need to be surrounded by a group of godly friends that are like-minded and desire to have a deeper relationship with God. It is very important that during these critical teen and pre-teen years they have a close group of godly friends that are really their friends, not because of the way they look, or what they wear, but because they really care about each other.
We want them to learn not just Christian values and Biblical principles, but how to live them daily. Help them to really understand who they are in Christ; that they do not have to be conformed to this world, not only in what it refers to sex, dress, or drugs, but also how to stand confidently for what is right. How not to allow negative peer pressure to dictate their actions and attitudes. It is sad to see Christians, even in church, shunning others because of the way they look, don't wear "cool" clothes, or simply because the popular crowd decided not to befriend them! Our children need to understand that this type of behavior can cause terrible emotional damage to the one on the receiving end, and it breaks the heart of God. We have heard and said so many times “kids can be so cruel” that now we even expect it from them, and have come to accept it as normal behavior!
As Christian parents we teach our children to be godly. We take them to church, Sunday School, and other Christian activities. In addition to that, we believe they need positive reinforcement from like-minded young ladies, and talk about important issues that concern them, so they know that they are not the only young person that desires to follow God's will; that there are godly young ladies with whom they can associate and enjoy the benefits of godly friendships. They need to discuss these issues in an open, friendly, supervised, and guided manner, practicing what they are learning among themselves, learning to accept each other and enjoy each other’s differences, realizing that we are all parts of the same body of Christ. Accepting that we might not think, talk, or react alike, but we all have unique gifts and abilities that God deposited in each of us for the benefit of the whole body. They need to grasp the understanding that there is something good in each one of us, and if we don’t see it in someone right away, we need to keep looking for it until we find it! Once we find it, enjoy it and appreciate it. In the meantime treat each other with respect in a kind and friendly manner.
At YWiSE we believe that our young women can truly learn to love each other, and support and encourage one another in the Lord, so that not one of them be tempted to look for acceptance in the wrong places, with the wrong people.
Once our daughters grasp who they really are in Christ, they won't have the need of people’s approval, because they know they have God's! They'll be free to do what is right. When they are more mature physically, mentally and spiritually, they will be better prepared to stand alone.
Everybody wants to be loved and accepted. Imagine the impact this kind of sisterhood will have on those who don’t know the Lord Jesus! When the world sees this kind of genuine love and acceptance among Christians of every denomination, simply because our common denominator is the Lord Jesus, they will want to know about our God, and why we believe what we believe; they will be more receptive to the Gospel. Jesus said the world would know we are His disciples by the love we have for one another (John 13:35).
It is our desire for all Christian young women to have a close group of godly friends that are really their friends, not because of the way they look, or what they wear, but because they really care about each other.
