Dear Young Lady,

I know you’ve been wanting attention. Mostly when we start looking for attention is because things aren’t going well at home, or your parents aren’t’ paying attention to you. That’s when the trouble starts happening. You look for any kind of attention you can get. That’s a bad thing because we usually look for attention from boys. Not all boys are bad, but there are many that are. Of course you have friends that are dating and getting boyfriends. I know it must be hard and hurtful for you. I’m here to tell you one thing: Don’t start dating just because you see everyone else doing it. Romans 12:2 says “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world”… If you want attention start praying to God, and be absolutely 100% sure that He is listening. Before you know it, it will be time for marriage, and because you waited, God will send the right person for you.

Dear Young Lady,

I think you should pray to God. If you need some encouragement, I suggest you read Isaiah 41:10, which says:
“Do not fear for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you , yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.

God is always with you and will provide what you need. So, if God thinks you don’t need a boyfriend, don’t worry about it. Take your mind off boys by hanging out with your friends, go see a movie or shopping, just try to keep your self busy and keep in the Word.

Dear Friend in need of advice,

I know you feel alone, but if you think about it, you are never alone because the Lord is always with you in everything you do. Isaiah 58:9 says “ Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say: Here am I”
Also, don’t’ feel the need to try to get attention from boys that you know just because everyone else has one instead seek attention from your friends and family, who want to give it to you and really care about you.
I myself sometimes feel left out when some of my friends talk about their boyfriend and how much they mean to one another, because I don’t have a boyfriend. But instead of being depressed, I put on my tap shoes, start taping to my favorite music, and thinking about my friends, plus the fun times we’ve had together, know they enjoy my company, and you know, that means so much more to me than a boyfriend.

Dear Friend,

You are not alone! Many girls who are waiting for their future husband can be impatient. But you need to think about your motives for wanting a boyfriend. Just because your friends have one is not a good reason. Relationships are not status symbols. And how old are you? Are you old enough to be married? Probably not. So why waste away the best years of your life on a futile relationship? Think about it.
